Structural Integration sessions can look a lot like a massage or physical therapy. Clients usually wear either gym shorts and a tank top, or bra with underwear. Whatever is comfortable for them is the most important, and it needs to be something that covers you appropriately so that you can get up and move around. I often have people walk, stand against a wall, or sit on a bench while I work with them.
Most of the work takes place on a table, and each session can involve some fairly deep work, which gets progressively deeper over the course of treatment. I work to build a rapport with each client so that we make sure that my techniques are helping to release fascial tissue, and not impose more trauma into the body structure.
A typical session focuses on a region of the body, and the sessions build upon each other over the course of the series. Each session is a little bit different, but all of them are working towards the overall goal of making you feel more balanced and comfortable in your body.
